Coppercoat Antifoul

Timelapse Coppercoat Application by Paul Shotton Marine Services

Paul Shotton Marine Services used three people to apply five coats of Coppercoat in one day to this Sealine T46. The application took place in late September 2021 at Drivers Wharf, Southampton in 18 degrees centigrade. The treatment consisted of 18 litres of Coppercoat in total. Coppercoat is the most durable and long-lasting anti-foul coating available. A single treatment of this water-based epoxy antifoul commonly provides a high level of fouling protection for a decade or more. By using Coppercoat, owners save the time and expense of the repainting associated with traditional anti-fouls. Coppercoat can be successfully applied to virtually all craft, irrespective of their size and usage, hence is sold to both the commercial and leisure sectors. While GRP vessels require no undercoat, boats constructed of wood, steel and ferro-cement can also be protected following the application of the appropriate primer. Specifically designed to be user-friendly, this water based non-toxic epoxy coating should be mixed thoroughly, one unit at a time, and simply applied to the prepared surface by roller or spray. A complete treatment is achieved in a minimum of four thin coats, which must be applied ‘wet on tacky’, all on the same day.
